Her name is Beauty. She is about 23 years old and as calm and gentle as can be. She belonged to an Amish family in Arthur and the kids rode her to school. She also is broke to pull a buggy. If someone falls off, she stops and waits for them to get back on. The kids had never ridden before (unless you count the times the older few rode around in circles on the ponies at the pumpkin patch), and they got right on and she meandered around the yard. I think we're going to like her :) I should have gotten a picture of the cows lined up at the gate checking out their new pasture mate.
Aww...that's so neat! We miss our Molly. Your children are going to love Beauty, and I can't wait to see pictures a couple of your girls are going to be drawing with their live model right there! The only thing is, only 1 horse and 7 children?
ReplyDeleteThey are really having fun with her. She only goes one speed - slow, but that is what we were looking for. If she feels them bouncing or sliding, she stops and waits for them to get their balance again. It does take a while for her to get through all of the kids. There is probably at least one more horse in our future :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice addition! My children, daughter especially, keeps asking when we can get one, her Dad always replies you have 2, she is quick to remind him you can't ride a mini! I'm sure you're going to be hearing "Can we ride now?" a lot in the future! Dora
